Scout Road, Mytholmroyd, 13-03-13

Whilst walking my dog Basil, I was surprised to find how many species of fungi there were, in such close proximity to my house!

Toothed Crust (Basidioradulum radula).

1.

 2.

 3.
1-3. Frozen Witches' Butter (Exidia glandulosa).

4.

5.

6.
4-6:  Scarlet Elfcups (Sarcoscypha austriaca).

Woodwart (Hypoxylon multiforme).
The broken perithicia (pores), are clearly visible, through which the ascospores escape.

Chaetospaerella phaeostroma an ascomycota, commonly found in broadleaved woodland, including Ilex. A big thanks goes out to Nick Aplin for his identification.

Orange Cups insitu.

Orange cups viewed with a microscope (above and below).

I am waiting for an identification. I will update you when I have received one.

Nettle Rash (Leptosphaeria acuta).

The above three are Blushing Bracket (Daedaleopsis confragosa).

Nick Aplin has examined these and give a positive identification of Rosellinia aquila, a carbonaceous Pyrenomycetes.

You can see in the photograph above, the broken perithecia.

The above three photographs of the Rosellinia were taken under a microscope.

Didymella lutea. Thank you to Nick Aplin for identifying them.
