A few more Cordyceps to add to the collection!

Suede Bolete (Xerocomus subtomentosus).

Oliver wanted to leave this dung fungi in situ to revisit and identify another day.

Oliver's keen eyes spotted this toad peeking out from the water.

  1. Clearly Oliver has more sense than you Alison. No doubt you would have dragged the fungi home along with a large heap of dung!

  2. Hi Bruce, this is the only one Oliver wanted to leave! At the moment I have a house full of fungi and it is starting to look like a laboratory with slides in the funniest places you can imagine. We had two massive forays on Friday and Saturday, that's why the blog is running slow as we brought home lots of specimens and we haven't had much spare time to identify them. I had to try stop Oliver from picking them up on Saturday as I knew we would be over run, but he wouldn't listen - he's back to being a fanatical forayer again :-)
